About Us

The Sweeney Singers have been performing for over 30 years in Abbotsford and the Fraser Valley. Over the years, a combination of 12 cousins from 2 families have been delighting audiences with their choral singing. They enjoy a wide variety of styles, including folk, jazz and classical. They have been commended for their purity of tone, balanced blend of voices and musicality. The Sweeney Singers were pleased to receive the 2008 ARTY Award for excellence in music. Featuring two concerts a year in Abbotsford, they also perform at numerous other community events. Proceeds of all regular concerts go to a chosen charity organization. It is the goal of the Sweeney Singers to promote and encourage excellence in choral music. Their latest recording, CALLING MY CHILDREN HOME (2009) combines many requested favorites from their audience, and exciting new music.
