Sweeney Singers to perform Vivaldi's Gloria

For our 26th season we are excited to be performing new music in a brand new venue on Friday June 5, 2015, 7:30 pm at St. James Catholic Church

We are thrilled to be collaborating with 7 excellent local musicians to perform Vivaldi's "Gloria." We will be joined by cello, viola, violin, trumpet, oboe and harpsichord to perform this work in the first half of our concert. Antonio Vivaldi composed this short choral work for the choir of an Italian orphanage for girls, around 1715. This music, with its immediate and universal appeal is a great example of how quality endures.

The second half of the program will feature a variety of songs including choral, folk, and a cover by popular a capella group Pentatonix. We look forward to making music in the spacious atmosphere and excellent acoustics of the newly built church, and hope that you will join us for an enjoyable evening of music as we continue to bring our love of music to our enthusiastic audience.

Admission is by donation to a charity to be announced.
